There is now no need to log in and out of the Seesaw app to switch accounts
In our Primary school we use Seesaw. It is a fantastically powerful tool that provides a window into the classroom and frames conversations at home about your child's learning. Please read the information below and watch the videos. Once you have done that, if you have not already connected to your child's Seesaw journal, please complete the form at the bottom of this site so that we can activate your account.
In Nursery and Reception we use Seesaw to document the achievements of our children during the day. We use it slightly differently to the rest of the school in that it is the teachers who post the learning rather than the children.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Please could we ask you not to leave comments on your child's posts or make posts from home as this affects the tracking system that the teams use to monitor the children's progress throughout the year. We have enabled the 'like' function instead.
Please also note that teachers will not respond to messages or comments left on Seesaw. Should you wish to contact your class teacher, please email them directly.
A. No. Teachers in Nursery and Reception record learning and reflections as part of their practice. Seesaw allows them to share these observations with you. In Years 1-6 the children will increasingly begin to exercise more independence in choosing which work to share and their reflections will deepen. Again, reflecting on their own learning is something we would ask the children to do as part of their learning and Seesaw is providing a window into this thought process for you. This creates the opportunity to engage with them in conversations about what they have learned, which the research suggests has a positive impact on learning.
A. Once you have completed and submitted the form below, you will receive your log in details within 2 working days
A. Between 1 and 2 is the average. This may vary from week to week; some weeks you may get more and some weeks you may get less. It very much depends on what your child wants to share and when they would like to reflect. For Nursery and Reception the teachers will be posting their reflections so they may be posted in the evening or during the day, depending on when the teacher has allotted time.
A. We ask parents not to comment on their child's journal as based on research, the real power of Seesaw is in the conversation at home between parent and child. The Nursery and Reception Teams also use Seesaw to track progress throughout the year and adding extra comments impacts their system of tracking.
If you had children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 last year during campus closure, you will know we were using Seesaw as an online learning platform. However, when children are at school, Seesaw serves a very different purpose. In order to facilitate using Seesaw in the classroom, we have had to remove posting from home for security reasons. This is something we will consider in the future should we feel it will adds to the learning.
A. Seesaw is used by schools worldwide and they take privacy and security very seriously. Please click this link for more details.
Please complete the form below to activate your child's Seesaw journal. The school will then respond within 2 working days with an activation code and instructions on how you can link with your child's journal.
We understand that other members of the family may also want access to Seesaw. Please include their email addresses in the form and allow them to access the information on this website.
