My name is Bethany Fernstrom, or Mrs. Fern, to my students. I have been teaching since 2012 and living in Unalakleet since 2015. I went to college at the University of Wyoming, and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I coach Battle of the Books for 3^rd and 4^th grade and I am the school wide art liaison. Some things that I enjoy are sewing, gardening, reading, skiing, traveling and cooking. I enjoy being part of the Unalakleet community and I feel privileged to teach your children.

Hey everyone, my name is Michelle Simon and I grew up in White Mountain. I moved here to Unalakleet and started working at the school as the 3rd Grade/Bicultural Aide in 2015. Prior to working with BSSD, I taught in White Mountain at the Kawerak Head Start for 5 years. Besides working here at the school, I enjoy being able to go home for the summer, picking berries, boating, fishing, four-wheeler riding and raising my son Lucas and daughter Erin.
