CORE PURPOSE:
The Head of Human Resources is a senior leadership role at the British School Jakarta (BSJ), responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Human Resources department. As a full member and Secretary of the Board of Executives (BoE), the postholder contributes to the overall leadership and strategic direction of the School.
The role is visionary, highly relational, and operationally sharp, with a deep understanding of Human Resources in Indonesia and, preferably, international awareness of best practice. Above all, the Head of HR must be warm, engaging, highly ethical and an effective communicator. A leader who can represent BSJ’s best interests with credibility and care.
While the primary responsibility is to lead HR strategy and operations, the Head of HR works closely with colleagues in the Board of Executive, Legal, Compliance and Government Relations, recognising that collaboration across departments is vital to the success and sustainability of the School.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related discipline.
10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior Human Resource leadership roles.
Proven experience in HR strategy, organisational development, talent management and retention, and industrial relations at a leadership level.
Good working knowledge of Indonesian Labour Law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance principles relevant to the education sector.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and build organisational capability.
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and strategic problem-solving skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Desirable:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Professional HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CIPD, CHRP).
Experience working within an international school or global education setting.
CORE PURPOSE:
To provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, adequate internal controls, and sound financial planning that supports BSJ’s strategic objectives and long-term sustainability.
The Head of Finance - Financial Controller acts as the Head of Business & Operations’ closest professional partner, proactively engaging with all areas of the school to drive financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and people-focused leadership.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA preferred).
Minimum 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in a financial leadership role.
Proven expertise in accounting principles, taxation, and financial regulations.
Demonstrated ability to prepare, interpret, and communicate complex financial information.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in financial systems and advanced MS Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in Indonesian and in English.
Desirable:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience working within an international school or education sector environment.
Exposure to ERP/finance transformation projects.
CORE PURPOSE:
As a Personal Specialist Learning Assistant for Learning Diversity, you will be required to raise the standard of pupil performance, behaviour and wellbeing. The PSLA-IN works in partnership with academic staff to support the learning of an individual pupil and the delivery of the curriculum in general.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
Minimum Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years working with students with SEND within a school setting as a Learning/Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Personal Learning Assistant or Teacher.
Successful experience in the education industry, particularly supporting learning of students within the age range of 2-18 years within an International setting.
Good understanding of the UK National Curriculum and/or International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB).
Good written and verbal communication in English and good interpersonal skills in order to effectively liaise with students and other parties.
Good computer literacy (Learning Applications and Google Suite).
Desirable:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education/SEND.
