Student grades are based on two categories: Citizenship (25%) and Daily Work (75%).
Citizenship starts each week as a 100. Students receive 20 points a day for Monday through Friday. Every time a student breaks the class or school rules, 5 points are removed. Similar to how a ticket works in the real world, this is designed to teach citizenship skills such as obeying the law, and adds consequences to breaking the rules.
Daily Work consists of vocabulary quizzes, unit notes, journal activities, Exploros activities and any other papers or work done in class.
Ask yourself the following questions.
If the answers to any are no, then fix that and your grade will probably improve.
1. Are you completing your bellwork each day?
2. Are you completing the Daily Question/Image and filling in all the parts of it?
3. Are your journal assignments complete?
4. Are your notes complete and in the appropriate spot in your journal?
5. Did you do your strategies on the Checkpoints?
6. Are you following the classroom rules? Staying awake and working? Not talking when you shouldn't be?
If you are still not sure, then go and talk to your teacher.
