Unit Descriptions

This unit looks at Spanish and French exploration of Texas following the discovery of the New World in 1492. The unit ends with the early colonial efforts in Texas and the consequences of these efforts.

Beginning with Moses Austin and the first settlers to Texas from the USA, this unit covers the changes that took place in Texas after Mexico gained independence from Spain.

This unit looks at the causes of revolt in Texas against the Mexican government and then discusses the Texas Revolution including its important events and results.
