The Calvó-Armengol Prize is awarded every two years to a top researcher in Economics or social sciences who is not older than 40 years old for contributions to the theory and comprehension of the mechanisms of social interaction.
The Prize is promoted by BSE and the Government of Andorra.
The Barcelona School of Economics and the Government of Andorra have announced the call for nominations for the ninth edition of the Calvó-Armengol International Prize in Economics. Nominations will be accepted from April 1 through June 30, 2025.
The Calvó-Armengol Prize was established in 2008 to honor the memory of BSE Affiliated Professor and Andorra native Antoni Calvó-Armengol, who passed away in 2007 at 37 years of age.
The Prize recognizes exceptional achievement in research. It is awarded every two years to an economist or other social scientist who is not older than 40 years old for contributions to our understanding of social structure and its implications for economic interactions.
Candidates for this edition of the Prize should have been born in 1985 or later in order to be eligible for selection.

The awarded scientist will be selected by September 2025.
Activities that celebrate the winner of the ninth Calvó-Armengol Prize will take place in Spring 2026. They include two main events:
A formal award ceremony and lecture for a general audience in Andorra
An academic lecture in Barcelona
The Prize also includes a cash award of €30,000
