The building is part of the historical complex of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, designed in the late 19th century. It is now managed by Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
Due to the history that surrounds the complex, we recommend a tour of it if you have the time.

The prices and tickets are the same for metro and bus:
A one-way ticket will cost you €2,55.
A ticket for 24h since the first validation with an unlimited number of trips (called T-Dia) will cost you €11,20. Choose the ''1 zone'' option.
A ticket for 10 trips (called T-Casual) will cost you €12,15. Choose the ''1 zone'' option.
A ticket called Hola Barcelona Travel Card for 2-days (48h) since the first validation which gives you an unlimited number of trips, including both T1 and T2 airport terminals, with a cost of €17,50. There are also 3-days (72h), 4-days (96h) and 5-days (120h) options.
The best option is going to any metro station. Inside you will see different vending machines where you can buy the best ticket option that suits you.
In case you get onto a bus, your only option is a one-way ticket, which you can pay by card (there is a card payment machine next to the driver) or with cash (they accept change of coins and bills of 5€ and 10€).
From the airport of Barcelona El Prat, you can take:
Aerobus: A one-way ticket costs 7,25.-€, while a return one costs 12,50.-€ (in case you are going back to the airport with the Aerobus, it is the best option). If you are considering a Hola Barcelona Travel Card, there is a discount for buying them together than if you would do it separately.
It takes around 35-40 minutes to arrive at Plaça Catalunya -in the center of Barcelona-. From there, you can take the L3 line (Plaça Catalunya station) and change at Diagonal station to the L5 line, getting down finally at Sant Pau-Dos de Maig station. This has a total duration of around 19 minutes.
You can also take the L4 line at Urquinaona station (a 4-minute walk from Plaça Catalunya) to Guinardó-Hospital de Sant Pau station. This has a total duration of around 18 minutes.
Taxi: It will be around 35-40.-€ and it can take between 30 and 45 minutes to arrive.
Metro: Unless you buy a T-Dia, you need to buy the special airport ticket which costs 5,50.-€. Depending on how many days you are staying, consider buying a Hola Barcelona Travel Card. If you do it online, you get a 10% off.
Then, you take the L9S line (Aeroport T1 or Aeroport T2 station, depending on the terminal you arrive) to Collblanc station (L5 line). Change to the L5 line and finally get down at Sant Pau-Dos de Maig station. This has a total duration of around 55 minutes.
