7th and 8th grade Language Arts students at Edmunds Middle School spent a couple of months learning about digital story-telling techniques. They listened to models, learned about common structures, mapped audio files, brainstormed stories that are important to them, scripted, recorded, edited, and finally produced their own podcasts. Some are featured on this site, and many here were entered into this year's NPR Student Podcast Challenge.
Unit Questions:
-How do we tell a compelling story or effectively teach something new or important?
-How do we structure our information in a way that makes sense and keeps listeners engaged?
-How can we use digital techniques to bring life to audio productions?
A special thank you to the Creative Teaching Fund for sponsoring this project.
