Social Studies NCSS C3 standards (for reference - not yet adopted)

District-wide Days of Recognition:

September 17 - Constitution Day. Pursuant to PL 108-447 (section 111): “Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of school year for the students served by the educational institution.” (note- this is a Sunday, but activities should be occurring in classrooms/schools around this date)

September - Indian Heritage Day. Indian Heritage Day is the 4th Friday of September. To meet accreditation standards, schools recognize this day school-wide.
