Program Goals are created every year by the school counselor and reviewed by the counselor's Advisory Council. Goals for academics, social well-being, and attendance are a focus each year. The goals for the current school year are as follows:

Academic Goal : Students of Ms. Liz will have a Student Growth Percentile (SGP) increase of 50% or more between the fall benchmark and spring benchmark of the current school year. Students who are struggling to make this SGP that are caught through progress monitoring will be offered resources like small groups and individual sessions to address any and all reasons they may be struggling to meet their SGP.

Social Goal : Students of Ms. Liz will complete 23 SEAL Lessons over the course of the school year that comprise of topics from how to make and keep friends, understanding bullying behaviors, values such as kindness, respect, and integrity, how to study and cope with big feelings, to feeling proud of who they are.

Attendance Goal : Students of Ms. Liz will either maintain or increase their current attendance pattern so that all students are attending at a rate of at least 95% days attended per school year. Ms. Liz will work with stakeholders to address barriers to school attendance such as busing issues, bullying or other adverse behaviors, etc. With the help of the principal, SRO, and Thrive liaison, attendance meetings will be held with families who exceed a certain number of days missed to offer more resources and support.

BOOK LIST

In accordance with Montana Legislation SB99, I want to be upfront about the books I have. These books are in the counseling office or owned by the counselor (offsite). Some are read in class lessons. Others are available if a parent would like to check it out or if there is a specific interest from a student and guardian permission has been given. The books meant for older audiences are not readily available to students without knowledge of the counselor AND guardian permission. If you would like to know which books are read in each lesson, a list of those can be found through the Weekly Happenings Newsletter under the Counseling Services tab.
