Attendance
It is expected that you will attend all practices made available to you. This includes all practices scheduled over Holiday Break. We have one of the shortest high school seasons of any activity and it is important that you commit to your teammates and yourself that you will be at practice. If this is a concern at all, please reach out to a coach directly and we are happy to discuss the circumstances that bring you to our programs.
The only absences that will be waived are for funerals, weddings of an immediate family member, a school sponsored extracurricular activity, a college recruiting trip, if the athletic trainers counsel me in a certain direction, or for one of the previously mentioned illness related bullet points mentioned above.
All other absences must be cleared through a coach prior.
If you miss a practice without it being excused you will miss the next meet.
Each practice (morning, afternoon, and dryland) counts as its own individual practice. If, for instance, a dry land practice is missed it counts as a missed practice the same as if a morning or afternoon practice is missed. This way you do get credit for attending the practices you are able to that day.
If more than two practices are missed (even if they are excused) in one week you will not be permitted to compete in the following meet. This is for the health and safety of our swimmers. If you are healthy enough to attend, it is expected that you still ride with the team and support your fellow Hawks.
Holiday Attendance
Attendance during the Holiday Seasons (Winter Break) are the same as the rest of the season. Attendance is still required. We expect everyone to continue to swim through each holiday break with the team. Although we cannot enforce this, we strongly request that you remain local for this upcoming Holiday season. If your family is leaving town for any of these holidays you must have a parent clear your absence with me otherwise it will be considered unexcused and will count toward your 3 unexcused absences. If a swimmer is excused from part of one of the holiday breaks, I will still expect each swimmer to swim or workout.
