ABOUT ME
My name is Avé Gray and I've always been interested in the medical field. I originally applied for the Health Careers program through Beaverton High school, but I wasn't selected. Although I was disappointed at first, it ended up being the best possible outcome because Sports Medicine has been an amazing opportunity! My journey has been an incredible experience to learn and grow not only as a student but also as a person, which is the goal of becoming a well-rounded IB learner.
I've played soccer for over a decade and have been on the varsity team for Southridge since my freshmen year. Since my season ended it's been really interesting to use my sports medicine knowledge when it came to recovering from injuries, maintaining my fitness, and sharing this information with others. I also love cooking and baking so the nutrition units have been really useful in my day-to-day life. Aside from my passion for exercise and being a self-proclaimed foodie, I really enjoy any form of outdoor activity like wake surfing, hiking, or camping, and I love spending time with friends and family.
~my future~
I will be attending Oregon State University's Honors College majoring in BioHealth Sciences with an emphasis on Public Health. I will also be pursuing the Pre-Medicine track with a minor in the humanities, more specifically creative writing. My end goal is to attend medical school, and although I have an interest in women's health and fertility, I am open-minded when it comes to picking a specialty!
