The Class A uniform is the standard dress uniform for Scouts in Troop 401 and Troop 8401. Wearing the uniform correctly reflects pride in Scouting, promotes unity, and demonstrates respect for the program and its traditions. All Scouts are expected to maintain a complete and properly worn Class A uniform.
Uniform Shirt
Official tan Scouts BSA shirt (short- or long-sleeved), appropriate to the Scout’s rank.
Required insignia must be properly placed and include:
World Crest emblem
Chief Seattle Council shoulder patch (provided by Troop)
Unit numerals 401 or 8401 (provided by Troop)
Patrol emblem (provided by Troop)
Rank badge (provided by Troop)
Position patch (if applicable) (provided by Troop)
One temporary patch centered on the right pocket (optional)
Shirts must be always tucked in.
Neckerchief & Slide (provided by Troop)
Pants or Shorts
Army-green or olive-green uniform pants or shorts.
Must be worn at the waist and kept neat in appearance.
Belt
Official Scouts BSA belt with appropriate buckle.
Hat
If a hat is worn, it must be BSA approved
Footwear
Closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activity. Hiking boots or sturdy athletic shoes are required.
Merit Badge Sash (For Formal Occasions)
Worn over the right shoulder during Courts of Honor and other designated special events.
Displays all earned merit badges in proper order.
Serves as a visible “trophy case” of a Scout’s achievements; there are currently 137 merit badge options.
***The Troop will provide neckerchief, slide, Chief Seattle Council shoulder patch, Troop # patch, patrol patch, and shoulder loops. ***
