This week, we're shining the spotlight on the real heroes behind every successful lesson, exciting project, and happy memory: our incredible BCS staff!
To all our amazing teachers, aides, food service rockstars, bus drivers, custodians, and every member of our team who goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our students and families:
Your tireless efforts, your kindness, and your dedication are what truly set BCS apart. So for Staff Appreciation Week, let's give it up for all you incredible individuals who make our school community thrive!
Thank you for your hard work, your passion, and your commitment to giving every student the best possible start in life. You truly are #BryanBuilt!
Above is a look at the infill process at the Arts and Education demolition site.
Crews take down the chimney at the now former Central building.
The demolition of the Arts and Education Building "South Half" (classrooms and gymnasium) is 99% COMPLETE! Touch-ups and landscaping of the grounds will take place in advance of the construction/rebuild phase.
As we stowe away the memories of the past, we look forward to the bright future the facility holds.
As a reminder, check out the proposed plans:

In part with our continual efforts to serve the community and our stakeholders at our highest levels, Bryan City Schools is expanding bus transportation services to students beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
BCS has a current "walk zone" or "no bus transport zone" of one (1) mile. The state of Ohio "walk zone" or "no bus transport zone" allows up to a two (2) mile radius.
BCS is reducing the current "walk zone" or "no bus transport zone" from the current one (1) mile down to a half (1/2) mile. This change will increase BCS transportation services to eligible households beginning with the 2026-2027 school year with approximately 130 students able to receive bussing. Additionally, all preschool mid-day students (except open enrolled) are also eligible for busing next school year.
These changes are meant to increase service to our community and will not require additional busses or drivers.
In this high-velocity episode, the #BryanBuilt Podcast moves from the district office to the softball diamond. Superintendent Mark Rairigh and host Chris Malanga explore the "Grit and Service" required to build a championship culture, both in the classroom and in the circle. From the precision of a Division 1 recruitment journey to the physical transformation of our district campus, Episode 06 highlights the discipline and local support that drive Golden Bear excellence.
Progress continues on the MS/HS expansion project that will add a Career Tech wing, a new Junior High Gymnasium, and a new Weight Room. The project is anticipated to be complete in June of 2026, with the new facilities ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
