This communication contains a wealth of information to help you prepare for the start of the school year, which begins on August 16.

Important Beginning of School Year Dates
Tuesday, August 8 - 11:30am-7:30pm - BACK TO SCHOOL BUSINESS DAY (aka Registration Day)
ALL K-12 STUDENT "BACK TO SCHOOL BUSINESS" DAY
ALL STUDENTS/FAMILIES - Pay fees, learn homeroom assignments, pick-up schedules, set busing, and more!
STUDENTS/FAMILIES IN GRADES PK-5 REPORT TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
STUDENTS/FAMILIES IN GRADES 6-12 REPORT TO THE MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL
**ALL TRANSPORTATION/BUSING REQUESTS MUST BE COMPLETED BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 11**
Monday, August 14 - OPEN HOUSE NIGHT

Families are encouraged to meet their teacher(s), drop off supplies, and tour the building(s).
BE Open House - 5:00pm - 6:30pm
MS/HS Open House - 6:00pm - 7:30pm (THE MS/HS will accept fee payments and issue student schedules during open house)
***IMPORTANT - NO TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS WILL BE TAKEN AT OPEN HOUSE***
Any transportation changes/requests that occur during the first week of school (August 14-18) will not take effect until Monday, August 21, 2023.
Please be sure to arrange all transportation at the Back to School Business Day on Tuesday, August 8.
Wednesday, August 16 - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Doors open to students at 7:40am.
School Day Starts at 8:00am.
School Day Ends at 2:45pm.
Reminder for Preschool, Cubdergarten, and Kindergarten Students:
Boys first day of school is Wednesday, August 16
Girls first day of school is Thursday, August 17
All Preschool, Cub, and KG attend on Fri., August 18
RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION
ALL RETURNING families/students must register for the 2023-2024 school year. There is no paper enrollment. Please navigate HERE to access the Returning Student Registration and follow the directions. THANK YOU to the many who have already completed this process!
If help is needed, assistance will also be made available for families to complete this process at the Back to School Business Day on Tuesday, August 8.
School Supplies
Ohio's Sales Tax Holiday on School Supplies
Looking to save some money on back-to-school supplies and clothing? Ohio has you covered with its annual sales tax holiday. The state's tax-free weekend for school supplies will be from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6 this year. Ohio sales tax holiday offers deals on back-to-school supplies, and clothing from August 4-6.

NURSE'S NOTE
Important note from Nurse Joy regarding Immunization Requirements:
If your child is going into their senior year (2nd meningococcal), 7th grade (TDAP & Meningococcal #1) or Kindergarten (kindergarten boosters) they are due for vaccines. If they have not received these vaccines you can contact your healthcare provider or The Williams County Health Department for an appointment. These vaccines are required by the state of Ohio for school attendance.

Payment accounts can be set up electronically by navigating HERE.
Free & Reduced Applications are available in the buildings and central offices to be processed for lunch, breakfasts, and student fees (excluding chromebooks). If your family qualifies please be sure to complete these applications as soon as possible.

Community Capital Athletics Campaign Updates

Phase 1 of the Bryan Athletic Booster's Community Capital Athletics Campaign is moving along! In the coming week's you'll see the project come together and we can't wait for the FIELD DEDICATION and CELEBRATION EVENTS on Friday, August 18!!! Be sure to check out the details below.
Here is the latest:
*Maumee Bay Turf is completing the turf project. The turf is being rolled out and sewn together over the first weeks of Augsut. The finished product will be game ready by the 18th of August.
*All the excavated dirt from the field was taken to the site of the old Washington Elementary School and has been spread to create multiple youth/practice soccer fields and a youth/practice softball field. Additional dirt for more field space, along with seeding, will take shape after Labor Day and at the conclusion of the Bryan Soccer Association youth season.
*New Stadium lighting poles and light ballasts are staged and ready for install.
*New stadium scoreboard installation is set to begin and complete during the first 2 weeks in August.
*A Donor recognition board, and donor recognition signage, is also undergoing the install phase in the coming weeks.

Field Dedication // Meet the Teams // Youth Autograph Night
Mark your calendars for the home football game on August 18, 2023! Not only will we be hosting Van Wert in week 1 of the football season, but we will also be holding a wealth of exciting events on the same evening.
Field Dedication
During pregame, Bryan City Schools will hold a ceremony to thank the community, businesses, & Bryan Athletic Boosters for all they have done for the Community Athletics Capital Improvement Project as phase 1 approaches completion.
Meet the Teams & Spring State Awards
We will introduce all of our high school athletics fall sports teams starting at 6:00pm on August 18. We will also honor our Spring Sport State Qualifiers.
Youth Autograph Night - Calling All Kids ages 0 - 8th Grade!
All kids and families are invited onto the field after the game to get autographs from our high school fall sports athletes! An autograph flyer will be provided!! COME OUT AND SUPPORT!!!
All Students FREE to Home Athletic Events!!
All PreK - 12th grade Bryan students will get in FREE to every home athletic event! This has been made possible by financial support from the Athletic Boosters and generous sponsorships from our community members and businesses! #BryanBuilt
STUDENTS, GET OUT AND SUPPORT OUR TEAMS!!!
Students in grades PK-6 must be accompanied with a paying adult.
Safe Routes to School
THANK YOU to the City of Bryan officials for carrying out the Safe Routes to School Grant process that has led to beautiful, and safe, sidewalks along Markey, South, Barrister, and Fountain Grove roads! BCS is appreciative for the safe walking/bike routes our students and the community can utilize!
