The PSAT Exam

Bryan HS students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will have the opportunity to take a PSAT exam in October

Students are automatically registered so they do not need to sign-up/register to take the exams.

The PSAT provides practice for the SAT and qualifies students with high enough scores as National Merit Finalists. BISD pays for all students to take these exams.

When College Board releases scores, we will notify students and parents and mail a copy of results home.  For information on score interpretation after the test, students should visit www.collegeboard.org and login to "My College QuickStart" using the individualized access code printed on their score sheet.

Approximately 1.5 million students in about 22,000 high schools take the PSAT.  Of those students, about 16,000 are named National Merit Semifinalists and about 34,000 earn Commended designation. National Merit Semifinalists are announced in September.

In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 29.916, homeschool students who live within the Bryan ISD attendance zone may register to take the PSAT and AP Exams during district administration.  Homeschooled students can register here.
