Class Overview
This semester-long course focuses on developing skills in reading, writing, grammar, and communication through the study of literary genres. Students will examine themes and employ textual evidence in their literary analyses and argumentative writing. Students will explore narrative writing, expanding their vocabulary and knowledge of morphology. Students will engage with both fictional and informational texts, exploring literary elements and figurative language. The course emphasizes critical thinking, close reading, and textual analysis, and prepares students for future academic endeavors.
About Me
Hello, and nice to meet you! Teaching freshmen is my jam, and I love our curriculum! I have learned a lot from my family, friends, and students, and I am passionate about helping others. My hope for my students is their happiness and health (physical, intellectual, and emotional). No matter where you are in your ELA journey, we'll grow together.
