Class Overview
Art 1 is a beginner-level course designed to introduce students to a wide range of materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, and more. Over the course of the semester, we’ll dive into different artistic styles, explore important movements in art history, and practice thoughtful reflection through writing and discussion. This hands-on, project-based class encourages creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking while developing problem-solving skills through the artistic process. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or preparing for a future in art, this course offers something for everyone.
About Me
I’m excited to be part of the Fine Arts Dept this year! A little about me—I’ve loved making art for as long as I can remember. I earned my degree in Painting, and after years of creating and studying art, I realized that what I love just as much as making it is sharing it with others. That’s what led me to become a teacher. I believe everyone has the ability to be creative, and it’s my goal to help you discover your artistic voice.
This semester, I’m especially looking forward to seeing how each of you grows and expresses yourself through your work. We’ll experiment with lots of different materials and techniques, and I’ll be here to guide you, cheer you on, and challenge you to push your ideas even further. Whether you’ve been drawing for years or are completely new to art, I can’t wait to see what you create!
