Spanish 3

Class Overview

The Level III Spanish language course focuses on the continued development of communication (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) in the target language and understanding of the culture(s) of the people who speak the language. It assumes that the students have completed a Level II course or are at a Novice-Mid to Novice-High level of proficiency. The class is grammar heavy and it builds the foundation for college bound students, or students who intend to continue on to Spanish 4 or AP Spanish.

Furthermore, through the course of each unit, students use all four communicative skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Its student-centered lessons bring together language and culture in each lesson sequence, preparing students for the real world. Apart from the main SOMOS curriculum, students will be enaged in the following:

All these supplemental programs correspond with the main curriculum to enhance student learning in the target language.

About Me

My name is John Dial, and I have been teaching for 11 years now. Many of those years were taught in other countries. I love learning about new cultures and spreading my knowledge to others so that they too can see the joy of traveling and learning about how life is in other parts of the world. I became a teacher because I feel like most students need a guide to push them in the right direction emotionally and academically. I am excited to explore new content and prepare my students to be successful in school as well as outside a school setting.
