Short Answer

  • 3 Questions/40 minutes

  • 20% of the exam score

  • Question 1 will be a secondary source covering years 1200--2001

  • Question 2 will be an image covering years 1200--2001

  • Question 3 will be a choice of two:

    • First choice will cover years 1200--1750

    • Second choice will cover years 1750--2001

Document-Based Question

  • 1 question/ recommended time/1 hour

  • 25% of the exam score

  • Students are presented with 7 documents based on different historical perspectives

  • Students develop an argument using supporting evidence from the documents

  • Question will focus on the years 1450--2001

Long Essay Question

  • 1question/ recommended time/40 minutes

  • 15% of the exam score

  • Students will answer a question and support it with historical evidence

  • Question focuses on historical reasoning skills (causation, comparison, continuity, and/or change)

  • Students will have 3 options focusing on a different time period:

    • 1200--1750

    • 1450--1900

    • 1750--2001
