RHHS Website - Dual Enrollment

Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program allows eligible high school students (10th–12th grade) to take free college courses while earning both high school and college credit. Students can choose from four-year universities or technical colleges. Juniors and seniors with a core GPA of 3.0 or qualifying test scores can enroll in core academic courses, while 10th–12th graders can access career-oriented technical programs. This opportunity helps students explore career paths, reduce college costs, and gain real-world skills.

There will be no exceptions if you miss the deadline. College courses will not be reserved for DE students.

NOTE: Students with an IEP or 504 should note that their services are not automatically transferred to the college they are attending for dual enrollment. The student should contact student services at the college to determine what is needed to qualify for modifications/accommodations.

New Dual Enrollment Students

A new Dual Enrollment student is a high school student who has never previously enrolled in college courses through the Dual Enrollment program.

Graduation Credit Checklist

Obtain a copy of your credit checklist through your advisor if you do not already have this. This will guide you in selecting the courses you plan to take the following semester. You may print a copy to bring to the meeting, or have this digitally accessible.
Review the Dual Enrollment Course Directory. Select the college you'll be attending, and search for your intended courses through this tool. Being prepared for your individual counselor meeting is essential. Please make note of the courses you select from this tool, on your credit checklist.
Update your graduation credit checklist by checking your PowerSchool historical grades as a guide to which courses you've completed thus far.

Step: 2

Students must check their Ga Futures account to obtain their HOPE GPA, this will be imperative for selecting which college you will dual enroll with, based on your GPA eligibility.

Schedule a meeting with the high school dual enrollment counselor assigned to the type of school you will be dual enrolling with:

2- year technical colleges: Ms. Neff

Apply to the college:

Complete the admissions application for desired college or university which the student is eligible for based on their GPA.

From these lists, you will select the school's website link, and begin the admissions application to the college.

Items to complete in Ga Futures:

Students can submit transcript requests for admissions via their GA Futures account. Test scores may also be required depending on the school.
Students must complete the Ga. Futures Student and Parent Agreement while logged into their GA Futures account. This agreement ensures that both the student and parent understand DE requirements, have selected their desired DE institution, and have completed the necessary funding application.

Regularly check your personal email account for email updates on your admission status and next steps
Next steps will include registration for mandatory orientation sessions, and college course registration information

Step 3:

Upload College Schedule

Once you receive your college schedule via email from the college, you MUST upload a copy into the dual enrollment google classroom. This can be found under "assignments" in the google classroom.
