COACH' LYONS COMPUTER SCIENCE

AND CODING CLASSES

(6TH - 8TH CONNECTIONS)

Welcome!

I am beyond excited for this upcoming school year. I have some amazing exciting hands-on activities planned for my 6th-8th Grade Computer Science and Coding classes that will push you and your creativity to amazing levels. We will explore various aspects of coding, including programming for Spheros and drones, as well as the creation of apps and websites. We will even delve into sessions where students can solve problems by coding these devices, and work on personal projects where they will experiment by creating and managing their own apps and websites.

Computer Science and Coding is about understanding how computers work and learning how to program them to perform various tasks. It includes studying logic, algorithms, programming languages, and the creative process of developing software and applications.

I have two goals for my my 6th-8th Grade Computer Science and Coding Classes:

I am looking forward to having you in my class. Just remember one important thing: whether it is in my class, another class, or here at school... Hakuna Matata - It means, "No Worries!"

(I am going into my 8th year of teaching, which will be my 1st year of teaching Computer Science and Coding as a connections class. I want to make my classroom as interactive as possible when teaching my students the GA Computer Science and Coding Standards to make them as successful as possible. Any assistance with my Wish List would be greatly appreciated. I have items related directly to the content and classroom-based items. Many thanks!)

(One of my favorite things to collect is Funko Pop Toys, whether purchased as birthday or Christmas gifts or even from my students. This list has specific Pops that I hope to add to my collection in the future.)
