Health & PE Class Overview
Welcome to Health and PE! This course is designed to equip you with essential knowledge and practical skills to lead a healthy and balanced life. Throughout the semester, we will explore various topics related to physical, mental, and emotional well-being, with an emphasis on making informed decisions that positively impact your overall health. Our curriculum will cover nutrition and fitness, substance abuse prevention, mental health awareness, stress management, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Engaging discussions, interactive activities and real-life scenarios will be used to enhance your understanding and encourage critical thinking. By the end of this course, you will have the tools and confidence to make responsible choices that promote lifelong wellness and success.
Oceanography Class Overview
Oceanography is designed to emphasize the interconnectedness of multiple science disciplines. Students will recognize that the ocean is a dynamic system reflecting interactions among organisms, ecosystems, chemical cycles, and physical and geological processes, on land, in air, and in the oceans. Students will investigate oceanography concepts through experience in laboratories and fieldwork using the processes of inquiry.

Weight Training Class Overview
The high school weight training course offers students a comprehensive overview of strength and fitness training principles to promote physical health and well-being. Throughout the course, students will learn the fundamental concepts of resistance training, including proper form, exercise techniques, and safe equipment usage. Emphasis will be placed on developing muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility through a variety of exercises, such as weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and circuit training. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of the importance of nutrition and its role in supporting their fitness goals. Through both classroom instruction and practical application, students will be empowered to design personalized workout programs and track their progress throughout the semester, fostering a lifelong commitment to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
About Me
I am Collin Oliver, and I am excited to be starting on my second year at RHHS. Along with teaching, I am a football coach and sponsor of the RHHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club. I strive to not only push students academically but also to help them grow as individuals, guiding them to become responsible, compassionate, and successful young adults. In the classroom, I strive to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where each student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential. I am looking forward to a great 2024-2025 School Year!
