About Me
I am entering my third year of teaching high school mathematics. Over the past two years, I have taught Geometry and Advanced Algebra, and this year I am excited to begin teaching Precalculus! In addition to teaching, I serve as one of the JV Competition and Sideline Cheer coaches here at the high school.
I have a genuine passion for mathematics and love helping students discover that math is more than just numbers, it can be engaging, challenging, and even fun. My goal is to create a positive classroom environment where students feel supported, build confidence in their abilities, and develop an appreciation for mathematics.
I have three beautiful children, Asa, Brently, and Nora. Our doodle, Remington, is 100lbs of pure love with the mentality that he is 2 pounds... As a family we enjoy being outside, going to the beach, boat rides, and fishing!
If you were to ask high school me if I wanted to be a teacher, that girl would tell you 'absolutely not'. Until my honors anatomy teacher gave me the encouragement and patience I was needing to change my outlook on school and educational future. Because of her I wanted to get my education degree and help the students like me, that need the encouragement and a little more patience to be successful. “True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross; then, having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own.” — Nikos Kazantzakis
I am excited to meet new faces, create new relationships, and watch my students grow to their fullest potential!
