Class Overview
These courses offers opportunities to improve reading, writing, speaking/listening, and critical thinking skills through the study of various literary genres. Students develop an understanding that theme is what relates literature to life and that themes are recurring in the literary world. Students explore the effect of themes in regard to interpretation. Students will demonstrate competency in a variety of writing genres: narrative, argumentative, expository, and technical. Students will engage in research, timed writings, and the writing process. Instruction in language conventions will occur within the context of reading, writing, and speaking, rather than in isolation.
About Me
This is my 6th year here at RHHS and my 11th year teaching. I teach English, and I also cosponsor the Animal Awareness Club. If you can't find me at RHHS, I'm most likely quilting, reading, or spending time with my husband, my two children, and my dog!
