“I speak my own sins; I cannot judge another. I have no tongue for it.” Arthur Miller
Class Overview
Through the themes: Faith, Fear, Freedom, The Individual and Society, American Dream Deferred and Revised, and Success, American Style and the Pursuit of Happiness, students will read, reflect and critically analyze pieces of literature as a means to connect with the ever-changing world. As we dive into American Literature, my juniors will unpack the tales of the past as they create their future. Junior year is so important! Let's push past ignorance and enrich our minds to set us up for the best path forward. As we all know, history repeats itself; the only way to learn from the past is to build a stable foundation based on collaboration, education, and creative thinking.
“I wasn't actually in love, but I felt a sort of tender curiosity.” F. Scott Fitzgerald
About Me
Hi all! My name is Mrs. Olivia Boyer! I have been teaching for eight years in Savannah, Ga, but I live in Richmond Hill with my husband and two littles! Originally from Savannah, I am a southerner at heart, but I did trek up to Philadelphia for my four years of Undergrad! My background is in English Literature, Creative Writing, and Theater. I believe in teaching content through the lens of the real world; critical thinking, creativity and kindness are the foundational pieces of our world. We are going to have the best year! Go Wildcats!

"Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation..." Jon Krakauer
