AP Macroeconomics Class Overview

AP Macroeconomics is a college-level course that introduces students to the principles that apply to an economic system as a whole. The course places particular emphasis on the study of national income and price-level determination. It also develops students’ familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth, and international economics. Students learn to use graphs, charts, and data to analyze, describe, and explain economic concepts.

Personal Finance and Economics Class Overview

In addition to the fundamentals of economic decision-making, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international economics, students will learn personal finance skills they can apply to their own futures – including managing and balancing budgets; understanding and building credit; protecting against identity theft and consumer protections; and understanding tax forms, student loan applications, and pay stubs. Economics is the study of how individuals, businesses, and governments make decisions about the allocation of scarce resources. This course provides students with a foundation in the field of economics, with a specific focus on how students can apply that knowledge to their own personal finances.

About Me

My hope for your learning in economics is that the world and your surroundings become illuminated so you can make the best choices for your life, both short and long term.  This is one of few courses in which you are constantly immersed in all the time, whether you realize it or not.  My goal is to help you become aware of that.  I'm a teacher because I've always enjoyed helping people in all ways.

I was born and raised in Savannah and have been teaching at RHHS since 2013, and moved to Richmond Hill in 2015.  My wife is also a teacher, currently at RHMS, and we have three children aged 16, 14, and 9.  My favorite activity is boating and fishing in our local waters.
