Class Overview

The high school weight training course offers students a comprehensive overview of strength and fitness training principles to promote physical health and well-being. Throughout the course, students will learn the fundamental concepts of resistance training, including proper form, exercise techniques, and safe equipment usage. Emphasis will be placed on developing muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility through a variety of exercises, such as weightlifting, bodyweight exercises, and circuit training. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of the importance of nutrition and its role in supporting their fitness goals. Through both classroom instruction and practical application, students will be empowered to design personalized workout programs and track their progress throughout the semester, fostering a lifelong commitment to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.

 

 

About Me

Having played college football at James Madison University (JMU), I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as the high school head coach. My time as a collegiate athlete at a respected program like JMU has not only honed my skills but also instilled a deep understanding of the game. As a coach, I am well-equipped to guide and mentor young athletes, emphasizing the importance of dedication, teamwork, and discipline both on and off the field. Drawing from my own experiences, I am committed to nurturing a positive and growth-oriented environment that fosters a passion for the sport while developing the players' potential to achieve their athletic goals. My background at JMU serves as an inspiring example for my high school players, motivating them to strive for excellence and potentially pursue their own athletic aspirations at higher levels.
