Class Overview
This course is designed as the second course in a three-course series. This course enhances students’ geometric, algebraic, graphical, and probabilistic reasoning skills. Students will apply their algebraic and geometric reasoning skills to make sense of problems involving geometry, trigonometry, algebra, probability, and statistics. Students will continue to enhance their analytical geometry and reasoning skills when analyzing and applying a deep understanding of polynomial expressions, proofs, constructions, rigid motions and transformations, similarity, congruence, circles, right triangle trigonometry, geometric measurement, and conditional probability. High school course content standards are listed by big ideas including Data and Statistical Reasoning, Probabilistic Reasoning, Functional and Graphical Reasoning, Patterning and Algebraic Reasoning, and Geometry Patterning and Spatial Reasoning.
About Me
Hello Wildcats & Wildcat Family Members!
I am thrilled to be here as your math teacher for my 29th year of teaching! My name is Eileen Hough, and I am incredibly passionate about two things: teaching and horseback riding.
Over the past 29 years, I have had the privilege of teaching algebra and geometry to countless students, and I am excited to embark on this journey of learning and exploration with all of you.
Outside of the classroom, you'll often find me at the stables, indulging in my love for horseback riding. Horses have taught me valuable lessons about discipline, perseverance, and the importance of building strong relationships – lessons that I believe can be applied not only in the saddle but also in our studies and everyday lives.
As we delve into the world of numbers, equations, shapes, and logic, I hope to inspire you with the beauty and elegance of mathematics. We'll work together to unlock the mysteries of algebra and geometry, and I promise to support you every step of the way.
Feel free to ask questions, share your thoughts, and let's create an inclusive and engaging learning environment together. Let's make this academic year one to remember, filled with growth, understanding, and perhaps a sprinkle of horse-inspired wisdom along the way!
I am looking forward to getting to know each of you better and having a fantastic time learning and exploring the world of math together. Let's saddle up for success!
