History of Club 412/FCA

Gabi Tweed and Alivea Cox came to Mrs. Powell at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year and asked if she would be the sponsor for this club.  The girls were trying to decide on a name for the Club and a verse that would be the verse that best represented the club.  They were leaning heavily toward 1st Timothy 4:12,  but there was another verse that they also liked. When they asked what Mrs. Powell’s room number was and found out it was Room 412, they immediately knew that 1st Timothy 4:12 was the verse that God wanted them to use.

Because this was a faith based club, it had to be student led.  That was nothing more than a motivator for these two outstanding young ladies!  They drafted their club proposal, Dr. McGrath approved it, and the rest is history!  They took the challenge and created and presented lessons weekly the first year.   If there was time to sing a song, their absolute favorite song was the Fruit of the Spirit song!  The Fruit of the Spirit is what the club members were all striving for, to be like Jesus in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The last Friday of each month, the group met together at the flagpole to pray and would then do a service project. The club changed a little bit when the girls entered 8th grade to incorporate FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) into Club 412.  The weekly lessons
were provided and the club now ended each club meeting with the
FCA Competitor’s Creed after we prayed.
