Welcome to Ms. Breckenridge's Class!

Our classroom is a supportive and engaging learning environment where students develop academic, social, independent living, and vocational skills through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. We believe students learn best when they can connect classroom lessons to real-life situations, so our instruction focuses on building the skills needed for success at school, in the community, and beyond high school.

This semester, our Social Studies curriculum emphasizes community living and citizenship. Students will explore topics such as our school and community, living in Georgia, community helpers, money and consumer skills, and responsible citizenship. Lessons are designed to help students understand the world around them while developing practical life and job skills.

Throughout the semester, students will participate in hands-on projects, role-playing activities, cooking experiences, community-based learning, and real-world problem-solving opportunities. Instruction is individualized using visuals, assistive technology, and multisensory strategies to ensure every student can learn, grow, and succeed.

We value our partnership with families and look forward to working together to help each student build confidence, independence, and skills for lifelong success.
