BCMHS FFA

What is FFA?

The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

FFA is the largest student-led leadership organization for students from all backgrounds. That means that you don't have to be a farmer! We just believe in advocating for the 2% that feeds all 100% of our nation.

Community Service!

This year we are doing lots of community service activities the students can participate in! Below is a list of community service activities we are doing and who you can ask about them:

Ms. Fulcher: Donated T-shirts into dog toys for the local animal shelter and Goody bags for the Local Fire Department

Mrs. Calandra: Collections for the animal shelter, Socks for the Homeless, Food Drive, and Christmas Angel

Fundraisers?

Kiss a Cow: The Middle School will be voting for teachers/admin to kiss a calf at the Valentines Pep Rally. Students can put a teachers name in the running to kiss a cow by paying $20. Once a teachers name is in the running, they vote by paying $1. One dollar equals one vote.

Both FFAs will be having a Spring Plant Sale in March. We will be having ferns, flower, and vegetables for sale.

This year we are excited to release our BCMHS FFA T-shirts! There will be 2 style options and they will be available on My Payments Plus, both for $25. The first cutoff date is September 15, so any order made before that date will be purchased in the first order. Any shirt ordered after September 15 will be ordered on the second order in January.

What's happening on campus?

If you drive by the school, you will see that we are doing construction near the greenhouse. We are building an agriculture facility at the school as a hands-on learning environment for our students. This large project is only made possible through the generous donations from Owens Supply!

We will have a barn for our livestock animals such as pigs and goats, raised bed gardens, bee hives to learn about how to produce honey, and so much more. Our hopes in building this facility is that as the school grows, the agriculture program will too.

There are so many opportunities for the students and we want to provide all the resources we can to optimize engaged learning, personal growth opportunities, and to increase agriculture literacy in the community.
