Ancient Egypt is a staple for its Inventions and innovations over time. The inventions from ancient Egypt were heavily sought after because of how easy it made everyday life for them and other civilizations. When the Egyptians started inventing they didn't know how important their inventions would become to other civilizations, because of this, they were very open to trade and doing what would greatly benefit their civilization. Ancient Egypt as early as 3100 B.C. was considered a preeminent civilization meaning they were still very advanced, even that early in time. By the time Alexander the Great started conquering the east, with that in 30 B.C. he conquered Egypt. Egypt has gathered so much attention and interest that there is a term for studying Egypt; it's called,"Egyptology". It is easy to see that Egypt is an important place with important inventions like the Pyramids, Mummification, Papyrus, the 365-Day Calendar, Agricultural Tools, and Hieroglyphics. These inventions have had great impacts on the Ancient world as well as the world today. Almost all of those inventions are still currently around, or something that has come from them.
The timeline to the right talks about important events of the Ancient Egyptian civilization and their inventions. They were all invented around the same time, though many of them are very different. Many of them relate to the Nile River, or use the area surrounding the Nile for research. This is one of the many ways that the, very resourceful, Egyptians used their geography to their advantage. Though the Egyptians used the Nile River to their advantage they also had frequent floods and droughts caused by the Nile. Looking at the timeline it is clear that they did not let it stop them, as they continued to invent and innovate through thousands of years.
The development of Mummification began around 3500 BCE. Mummification was believed to help someone reach the afterlife. Most commonly Pharaohs were mummified but civilians could also be mummified.

Papyrus paper is one of, if not the most important invention from the Ancient Egyptian civilization. Papyrus was used as a form of writing utensil substituting the formerly used clay tablets. Papyrus affected many aspects of the world, both ancient and modern.

The Ancient Egyptian 365-Day Calendar was a very important invention. It was invented because their previous calendars were useless. They had three calendar systems, a Lunar, Solar, and Civil. All of their calendars had 365 days, three seasons, and 12 months.

Agriculture tools were very important for the Egyptian civilization. They helped make farming much more efficient. Without these tools the Egyptians couldn't have been as great of a civilization as they were.

Hieroglyphics are pictures/symbols that represent a sound. The higher class of egyptians (mainly the royal family and priests) used the hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics were officially used around 3100 BC. And they ended in 391 shortly after the rise of Christianity.
