Ancient Egypt was located in the Nile Delta. The Nile is the longest river in the world. This made river travel a very common form of transportation. Unlike most ancient civilizations, ancient Egypt was one single kingdom, there were no city states. Pharaohs, which were the Egyptian's version of kings, ruled in dynasties. Ancient Egypt was separated into lower and Upper Egypt. Lower Egypt was located in the Northern area, while Upper Egypt was in the Southern area. Through this website you will be able to explore the creativeness and inventiveness of the Ancient Egyptians.
It was almost as if they popped out of nowhere; where did they come from? 4,500 years ago, Pharaoh Khufu ordered the Pyramids to be built. Many built as tombs, they hold great wonders and stories of the past. It took years to build and many workers who helped build it were paid a hefty amount of money, but never lived long enough to see it, so it was passed to their families. This is just one of the amazing inventions the Ancient Egyptians built.
