Course of Study

In sixth grade students study Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Mesoamerica (Aztec, Inca, and Maya civilizations). This year we are going to study these societies thematically by looking at and comparing their geography, religion, achievements, political system, economics and social structure: we use the acronym GRAPES. We’ll also do an economics unit that will both reinforce the concepts learned while study these ancient civilizations and introduce key concepts of personal finance.
