CDC - Adolescent & School Health -Try this site for fact sheets, information from the Youth Risk Behavior Survey and more. The Centers for Disease Control is a great example of a valid source of health information

Center for Disease Control - Up-to-date resource of all current health topics. Includes an A - Z health index as well as a special kids' page.

Health finder -This site is good for general health information, both disease and drug-related information.

Kidshealth.org - Provides up-to-date Health information with separate areas designated for kids, teens, and parents.

National Bullying Prevention Center -Find information and videos about how to deal with bullying.

Mayo Clinic - Online health information, educational services, and communities for physicians and consumers.

SAVE - This site has information about depression, mental health, and suicide prevention, as well as a crisis hotline (1-800-273-8255

Teen Health & Wellness - This is a comprehensive resource designed for teens, parents, and teachers. This interactive database includes articles on the body; diseases and disorders; alcohol and other drugs; family, friendship, and dating; nutrition; sexuality; and other issues of interest to teens.

Conflict Resolution- Links you to the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource center and a variety of on-line resources regarding conflict resolution.

Holistic Online - scroll down to the section titled "Coping with Stress". Here you will find information on re-framing, positive thinking, getting organized, time management, breathing, humor, diversion, aroma therapy, meditation, yoga, tie chi, pet therapy, reflexology, and many, many more stress management techniques.

Intelihealth - Includes stress reduction techniques reviewed by the faculty of Harvard Medical School.

It's My Life - Provides information on how to manage time effectively, including prioritizing, scheduling, organizing and planning.

Medline Plus: Stress - Scroll down to the section titled "Coping". Here you will find information on meditation, positive thinking, relaxation techniques and yoga.

Mind Tools - Contains information about how to use relaxation techniques to reduce and manage stress.

National Institute of Mental Health - Contains various information on depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other mental health issues.

ALCOHOL, TOBACCO & OTHER DRUGS


Al-Anon/Alateen Family Group - Al-Anon helps families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects pf living with the problem drinking of a relative or friend. The organization works to help young people understand that it's not their fault if they have a parent who drinks too much. Alateen is a recovery program for young people.

The Anti-drug - This site is designed to combat drug use and drug use messages.

DEA: Drugs of Concern - This website will provide up-to-date drug information.

NIDA for Teens - This website will provide up-to-date drug information for teens.

National Association for Children of Alcoholics - This is a non-profit organization that conducts public education and advocacy efforts on behalf of all children and families affected by alcoholism and other drug dependencies. The organization works to help young people understand that it is not their fault if they have a parent who drinks too much.

National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information -

National Inhalant Prevention Coalition - This is a public-private effort created to promote awareness and recognition of the under publicized problem of inhalant use.

Natural High- Aimed to educators and parents focusing on information and ways to assist their important influence on adolescent drug prevention.

Office of Drug Control Policy - Designed to provide current information on drugs and drug policy.

SADD Students Against Destructive Decisions - a school based program dedicated to addressing the issue of underage drinking, impaired driving, drug use and other destructive decisions and killers of young people.
