OTHER PROCEDURES AND EXPECTATIONS:
■ Bring all necessary materials to class every day. You must have a folder, paper, writing utensil, and free reading book EVERY SINGLE DAY.
■ You are responsible for the condition of your assigned textbooks. Damage to textbooks, computers, or classroom equipment will result in a fee.
■ Google Classroom Policy: The drop box is used for long-range assignments. All work must completed within Google Classroom (not an attached, completed assignment). Submit work to the appropriate Google Classroom drop box on or before the scheduled due date.
■ Extra credit is not an option. Carefully completing all assignments and submitting them on time is an option.
■ Students are responsible for getting all missed assignments due to an excused absence. Alternate assignments will be given when the in-class activities cannot be duplicated. If students wish to pre-arrange an absence, they should get all worksheets and assignments before the absence. Students must be prepared for the next class: all assignments are due and all tests must be taken as scheduled.
■ Students are expected to initiate discussion, listen with courtesy, and participate effectively in a collaborative group. Students will receive a significant deduction in points if they submit or present content that is not appropriate for a school classroom (15% minimum deduction for each instance).
■ A student may receive an extension on an assignment if unusual circumstances arise. Request an extension prior to the due date — once the due date arrives, it is too late to request an extended deadline.
■ It is each student’s job to avoid the act and appearance of cheating. The PLAGIARISM POLICY posted on this website will be followed and enforced.
■ Backpacks and electronic devices are not allowed in the classroom. This is done to limit classroom distractions and subsequent disciplinary referrals. Cell phones must be turned off and placed in the cell phone holder during class---they are not to be in your pocket or on your person.
■ Act like a mature young adult. Interfering with your learning or the learning of others is not acceptable behavior. Procedures outlined in the student handbook will be followed.
Please do not hesitate to talk to me if you need assistance or have a concern that you would like to discuss. I can be reached before school, during my prep period, or via email.
