Confirmation of COVID-19 in our Community: Frequently Asked Questions
03.22.2020
Can you inform us about who specifically is infected?
We need to respect the privacy of those in our community. We cannot and will not be releasing peoples names or other identifiers.
Can you provide any details about how much interaction an infected person may have had with other staff and students?
The Department of Health has recently changed their strategy due to increasing community spread. We have been made aware that if notification is required, it will come directly from the Department of Health, as this is a public health issue. We advise that if you or your child become symptomatic, or if you have health-related questions, you contact your physician or the Department of Health.
Will the families of children who were in direct contact be notified?
Any notification will come from the Department of Health. We advise that if you or your child become symptomatic, or if you have health-related questions, you contact your physician or the Department of Health.
What type of disinfecting is happening in the schools?
Our custodial team is consistently disinfecting every surface in every building. Teachers must sign in to access their classrooms and the rooms are disinfected after every use. Rooms are kept locked and are not accessible to anyone but the classroom teacher. Our buildings will be clean and safe when we reopen.
What can I do?
The best thing to do is to keep your children home. Please do not send them out in groups. Practice social distancing.
