Science

This unit focuses on cellular processes, inheritance at a DNA/ cellular level, genetics, evolution, and the scientific process. In preparation for 9th grade Biology, students will work in groups to do hands on labs working with microscopes and other scientific tools, virtual labs, complete textbook readings, and have cumulative tests. 

This unit focuses on Newton's laws of motion and the electromagnetic spectrum. In preparation for high school physics classes, students will learn mathematical equations to solve for different variables, do hands on labs working with scales, newton meters and other scientific tools, virtual labs, complete textbook readings, and have cumulative tests.

This unit focuses on theories of our universe's beginning, how galaxies are formed, how our solar system formed and what its made up of, and how our sun, earth and moon system work together. Students will do hands on labs working with models and other scientific tools, virtual labs, complete textbook readings, and have cumulative tests.
