➦ Know what you can offer, so you can show your value and communicate your strengths in a clear concise way 

 (See your career counsellor, teachers, and family for support). 

➦ Tailor your résumé for each job so you can show your value and skill competencies. 

➦ Organize your job search and visit businesses outside their peak hours. 

➦ Ask to speak to a manager or supervisor when job searching.

➦ Keep notes on the manager's or supervisor's name so you can ask for them when you check back.  

➦ Go back to check in with employers regularly. You you never know when an opening will come up and sometimes you may be 'just in the right place at the right time'.

➦ Dress appropriately. 

➦ Take your résumé with you each time.
