Chromebook Pickup Plan for the 2021-2022 School Year
Students in grades 5 - 12 will have a Chromebook assigned to them if needed this school year.
BRPS fully supports students who wish to Bring Their Own Device (BYOD).
BYOD devices do need to have a minimum of an 11" screen, and be able to run the Google Chrome web browser.
Schedule for Chromebook pickup for the 5th - 12th grades:
Big Rapids Middle School:
Wednesday, August 18th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Tuesday, August 24th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Wednesday, August 25th after school from 11:30am – 4:00pm
Big Rapids High School:
Thursday, August 19th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Tuesday, August 24th from 12:00pm – 5:30pm
Wednesday, August 25th after school from 11:30am – 4:00pm
Parents - please download the form found here to complete prior to picking up your child's Chromebook.
Cardinal Chromebook Take Home Agreement
Big Rapids Public Schools will also offer an accidental damage insurance plan for take home Chromebooks.
The cost per device is $25.00 and covers the device for the entire school year.
This plan will provide 1 accidental damage repair at no cost. Additional details are available here.

Internet Service Providers
Many area Internet Service Providers are offering free internet access.
Public Wifi Locations
Public Wifi Locations: Big Rapids Public Schools has provided public wifi access "HotSpots" at each of our 4 building parking lots. Our Public Wifi is named "BRPSGUEST" and requires no password to gain access. You are welcome to visit any of the following locations and access online resources at the following locations:
Brookside: Parking lot south of the school building
Riverview: Parking lot north of the school building
Middle School: Parking lot in front (West side) of the building
High School: Staff parking lot near the front of the building.
There are also many other locations in the Big Rapids Area with public "Hotspots". We will continue to build a list of recommended secure locations on this site.
