This month we said farewell to our wonderful Year 13 students. We celebrated with some energetic ‘Just Dance’ and Basketball in our final General Studies session, which was a good way for the students to let off some steam before they head into their revision and exam period.
On their final day, the students enjoyed a special breakfast before their leaving assembly; we reflected on their time in the Sixth Form and subject teachers and form tutors distributed a range of awards.
We would like to thank the students for the contributions they have made to the school over the last two years and wish them the best of luck for their exams. We will be looking forward to seeing them at their Summer Ball in June and at our Celebration Evening on Thursday 3rd September.
With end-of-year exams now behind them, our Year 12 students have officially turned their focus to the future! This week, they took part in two dedicated 'Passport to the Future' days designed to help them navigate their next steps.
Students explored university and apprenticeship pathways, started setting up their UCAS accounts, and began drafting their personal statements. They also picked up vital real-world skills in a budgeting and finance workshop hosted by Herts Young Homeless.
The highlights concluded with a speed networking event, where we were delighted to welcome back several alumni who have successfully secured apprenticeships. They shared invaluable, first-hand advice with both Year 12 and Year 10 students. We are immensely grateful to these former students for giving up their time to share their insights with our current Year 12 pupils.

Director of Sixth Form
Studying for A level or T level places more responsibility on the student to learn independently. In order to be successful, it is important that students plan and organise their study, and use a variety of techniques to ensure full understanding. Students have study periods during the school day, and home work time to complete their independent study. We recommend the Rule of 8, which is that in a 24 hour period, students allocate approximately 8 hours a day for school work (including lessons), 8 hours for sleep, and 8 hours for themselves. If students require any support with study, the pastoral team and subject teachers are happy to help.
