The Opinion page of Verbatim is intended to provide a venue for members of the Brownell Talbot community to address concerns that are timely, relevant, and appropriate. Material should be oriented toward issues that affect the entire BT community, rather than individual grievances or ----. We seek to promote an open exchange of ideas, insight into a wide range of worldviews, and productive disagreements leading to mutual understanding and empathy.
This page is open to members of the Verbatim staff, but also to students, teachers, administrators, parents, and alumni who would like to submit a piece of writing that vocalizes a perspective they believe needs to be heard. All writing submitted to Verbatim will be proofread and edited to meet standards of publication, and submission of writing does not guarantee publication. Any writing deemed offensive or incendiary will not be considered for publication and may be brought to Brownell Talbot administrators for review.
The ideas, opinions, and points-of-view expressed on this page represent only the individual writer, and are not implicitly endorsed by Verbatim or Brownell Talbot. All material published on this page will be attributed directly to the author, with no anonymous submissions allowed.
To submit a short letter or longer essay, please reach out through Instagram (@btverbatim), email (btverbatim@brownell.edu), or a member of the Verbatim staff.
