Robin Le Duc

English Learner (EL) Teacher

Being an English Learner is a temporary designation,

whereas being a Competent Multilingual is a lifelong asset,

worthy of every teacher's support.

About me

I am so happy to be joining the family at Brown Deer Middle/ High School.

I have been working with multilingual families for over 25 years as an English Language teacher.  I love learning about culture and promoting language.

After college, I moved to Japan to experience life as a "non-native speaker." After four years of living in Japan, I had a better understanding of what it is like for many of our EL families settling in a new land with a new language.

Here at Brown Deer, my goal is to support multilingual students and to help them find success at school and in the future.

What is an EL/ ML?

English Learners and Multilingual Learners are students who are fluent in one or more languages. ELs are still working on proficiency in English.

Proficiency in social and academic English across all content areas is what we strive for.
