Elementary School Social Worker

In addition to being the School Social Worker, I also teach Guidance Class for 5K, 1st and 5th grades. The following curriculum are used during guidance class lessons:

The We Thinkers! series helps children better understand themselves and others, develop self-awareness, perspective taking, social problem solving, and supports students’ social-emotional learning, relationship building, classroom learning, and academic performance. The material is designed to be used with both typically developing children and those with social emotional learning challenges.

About me

I love learning and school was one of my favorite places to be when I was a kid!

It is still one of my favorite places to be now that I am a grownup :) I also still really love to learn new things.

I earned an Associate of Arts Degree from UW Sheboygan with an Elementary Education focus; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Human Growth and Development from UW Green Bay; a Masters of Social Work Degree with an emphasis on School Social Work from UW Milwaukee.

I have been a School Social Worker for more than twenty years with much of my experience focusing on children who are three to twelve years old.

I enjoy spending time with my four children, my dog, family and friends. I love books and belong to two book clubs. I also enjoy being out and about in nature, playing board games and am learning to be better at cooking and baking.

My Mission Statement:

In showing respect for ourselves and others and by being able to understand our own feelings and show empathy for the feelings and struggles of others, we begin to think more flexibly, are better able to set and achieve goals for ourselves and support the goals of others so that continued personal growth can be achieved by all.
