Resources for Summer Learning Success (K-12)
Watch the video for an overview of what IXL is and how to access it (via Clever). At the top of this website, you will find a link to Clever as well as help on how to sign into Google Chrome using your student's Gmail address. Remember if you need any additonal support, you can always put a ticket in at support@browndeerschools.com.
A little practice had a big impact—students who answered at least 15 questions per week over the break gained the equivalent of 5 weeks of learning.
Families are encouraged to have their students log onto the Learning A-Z platform through Clever each day for approximately 20 minutes. Once logged in, students can explore the Foundations Planet, where they will engage in interactive reading activities designed to strengthen foundational literacy skills such as phonics, sight words, and early comprehension. Consistent practice on this platform helps reinforce classroom learning and fosters a lifelong love of reading. If you have questions about how to access this resource, please contact your student's teacher or stsmith@browndeerschools.com. You can access Learning A-Z through your child's Clever account.
BDSD is gearing up for summer break. While summer presents an opportunity to relax and enjoy the sunshine, we want our students to continue to find ways to learn while away from the classroom.
Sora is our digital reading platform that allows your student to read from anywhere, even when our school is closed for breaks and holidays. Titles in our Sora collection can be accessed on any device and downloaded for offline reading.
We are excited to include the Sora Sweet Reads program as part of our summer reading options this year. This means more titles will be available for your student to read this summer without holds or waits.
Starting May 18 – August 24, 2026, the Sora Sweet Reads program will offer a collection of grade-appropriate ebook and audiobook titles, displayed in Sora for quick, easy, unlimited access. You can explore the title offerings and learn more about the program here: https://resources.overdrive.com/sora-sweet-reads/. You can access all the books and e-books our Libraries have purchased, too!
How does it work?
Sora provides the quickest and easiest way to get started with digital titles from our school. Students can simply log in using school credentials and instantly access our digital library on virtually any device. Get started today at https://soraapp.com or download the free Sora app for Android or iOS. For easy access, our school’s setup code is 202765.
You can also access Sora by logging into Clever! See the Google link and page above for help on how to do this, as well as the Clever link to learn how to access.
Comics Plus is a digital library offering thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, manga, and picture books for readers! One of the best things about it is that many students can check out the same digital book—there are no holds! The collection is updated regularly, so just check the "Just Added" section to see the latest additions!
You can access Comics Plus from the App Store and sign in with your school email address, or visit login.librarypass.com or Clever (see the link at the top of the webpage and the Google link for how-tos).
