by Nkenna Akunna
directed by Molly Houlahan + Nkenna Akunna
sound design by Chris Darbassie
dramaturgy by Mysia Anderson
Some of Us Exist in the Future follows Chiamaka, a young Black immigrant straddling two realms. On earth, she is a cash-strapped Brooklyn transplant, grappling with the extremes of her new home. But at night, when it gets dark and the world is asleep, the gods call on her through her TV screen... As Chiamaka journeys toward a new kind of consciousness, Some of Us Exist in the Future asks her, and us: what does it mean to die to this world?
