Project scale and community contributions
Part of each proposal includes how the project might contribute to the Brown community. For short projects we ask for a smaller contribution and less advanced notices. For long projects we ask for greater contribution and more advanced planning.Take a look below to find out more projects of different scales. Community contribution
A short project might contribute by providing photographic, video or other documentation of the final work and/or process for use to promote the studio's possibilities.
Application process
Project proposal must be submitted between three to six weeks in advance of your planned use of the studio. Short projects are reviewed weekly on Tuesdays.
Example:
You are hoping to use the studio in the second week of November.
The latest you can submit a proposal is on Monday in the 3rd week of October because your submission must be received at least three weeks in advance of your proposed use of the studio
The earliest you can submit your proposal is on Monday in the 1st week of October, because this type of project must be scheduled within 6 weeks of submission.

Community contribution
Longer projects are reserved for projects working extensively with the Brown community, either through public performances at the Lindemann or Granoff or in connection with other arts programming.
Application process
Longer projects are reviewed once a month on the first Tuesday for dates at least three weeks in the future.

You are hoping to use the studio in the second week of November. The latest you can submit a proposal is on Monday in the 1st week of October. Here is why:
Since proposals are reviewed once a month, on the first Tuesday, your proposal should submitted by the first Monday in October in order to potentially be approved for use in the second week in November
Before submitting a proposal you must complete the studio training including online quiz and in-person training.
