Phantom Mirror
A Digital Solution for Phantom Limb Pain
Phantom Mirror uses artificial intelligence to replicate mirror box therapy for Phantom Limb pain in amputees and stroke patients. The app first detects and segments the your existing limb using your device's camera. Phantom Mirror generates a realistic mirror image of your missing limb to create the illusion of the missing limb, which can help alleviate phantom limb pain. This app may be used for any limb.
This app is supported on both iPhone and iPad. Keep the device in landscape for optimal effect. Maintain optimal lighting and avoid distracting backgrounds to help optimize limb segmentation.
**This application and its usage are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor, go to the emergency department, or call 911 immediately.**
How it Works
Phantom Mirror uses a body segmentation model to detect your limb within video taken from your device's camera. Using this segmentation, Phantom Mirror overlays a mirrored version of your detected limb onto the video to create the illusion of your missing limb.
