February - Valentine's Day Candy Gram!

For Valentine's Day, students can sign up to commission a candy-gram, anonymous or not! We take your suggestions (favorite words, funny memories, etc.) and send a quick 30-60 second song to the special someone in your life.

March/November - Composition Concerts

For this event, any Brown student can send in a composition that they would like to have performed! We will find musicians to perform your piece, and organize rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the event. Past compositions have ranged from voice/piano songs to a sextet for winds and strings.

April/December - Fermata 24

Fermata's signature event is our 24-hour Composition Festival:

Composers write music from Friday 8 PM to Saturday 8 AM, for assigned instrumentalists / vocalists
Performers rehearse the music during the daytime, and perform at a public concert on Saturday 8 PM.

Past compositions have ranged from brass duet to solo viola to unique percussive experiences!
